The event celebrates the signing of the Ottawa Declaration twenty years ago on September 19, 1996 which established the Arctic Council.
In addition to a number of panel discussions centered on Arctic matters, the celebration will feature a keynote address on Canada’s international Arctic policies by Minister of Foreign Affairs Stéphane Dion at 8:30am sharp.
Coffee and a light buffet lunch will be provided to registered attendees.

The event is being organized by Global Affairs Canada in partnership with the Arctic program of the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) and the Faculty of Public Affairs of Carleton University.
